• A graceful set is recommended for this mining method.

If you have RuneLite make sure to use the Blast Mine plugin, which shows you how many ores you have along with the location on the walls.

There are walls everywhere, and that’s where you can mine out different ores. You can then place them in the ore sacks. There are also banks nearby. You can collect your ore from the operator.

Remember that you can only carry 450 of any ore in particular. The Northwest location requires the least running, so it is recommended.

This mining method uses dynamite to blast through rocks and obtain ores, which you can collect. The blast mining process requires some preparation and planning, including getting the necessary gear and meeting the skill requirements.

Simply fill your inventory with dynamite, a chisel and a tinderbox and head to the north-western location.

The order I Excavate is shown in the picture below. Excavate the first one. After that, place dynamite inside by pressing on the wall. Finally, light the fuse by pressing the wall again, before quickly proceeding to the number 2 location and repeating the process. After you do all 4, pick up the blasted ore. For numbers 4 and 3, you will do both sides, so in total 6 ores per trip. If you don’t move out in time, you will take quite a bit of damage.

When you have 6 pieces, deposit the ore into the ore sack and repeat the process until you have 450 ore.

To collect your rewards, go to the operator and wear your prospector gear(if you have it) as that is when you get a big mining exp drop.

There is great value in this mining experience in more than just the basic value of the gem. First, there is the opportunity to gain mining gear at the guild. Bellona isn’t just there to offer access to the gems. She also offers the chance to trade unidentified minerals for new items at her store.

This is worth checking out and is easy to do. You will get a decent amount of these minerals from your mining venture, so you may as well use them. You could get superior mining gloves, clay packs, or gem bags.

Another option is to take a chisel to the mine and work on crafting the amethyst into new items. Amethyst is a great gem for weaponry and is used in bolt tips, arrow tips, javelin heads, and dart tips. You can stack these in your inventory for future use. They all offer the same 5400xp bonus, but the dart tips are more valuable for a smaller number.

Varrock armor

There are many tin and copper, and mining spots around the OSRS. You are free to mine copper and ore if you don’t want to complete the mining quests above. However, the best mining spot is the Varrock mine, which takes 15 minutes and has an Exp rate of 10k/hr.

Levels 15 – 75 (Iron Ore)

You can unlock iron ores once you reach level 15. Power mine iron ores until you reach level 75 for the fastest experience. The most efficient setup is the 3 rock location for maximum experience.
You will start instamining once you reach level 60, which boosts your experience.

Locations to mine iron ore

Mining guild, Alkharid, Wilderness Resource, Tahaearn mine, Fossil Island, Piscatoris, and Legends mine.
The best location for ore mining is the Mining guild because of the +7 level boost.

Level 75-99 (3-Tick Granite Quarry)

This quarry offers the fastest way for train mining in OSRS. However, you should be careful because it’s very click-intensive, and most people don’t succeed. Go for the motherlode if you are lazy and prefer AFK.

You require waterskins for this location because it’s situated in the desert. An amulet 4 will also do the trick.

Granite Quarry Location

You can access the Granite quarry in the Kharidian desert, south of the bandit desert and east of Nardah. Use the magic carpet to reach the bandit camp quickly and walk south.

Motherlode mine (30-70/99 mining)

You can access the motherlode mine from level 30. It requires a lot of AFK mining and is the only way of getting the prospector.
You can utilize the Motherlode mine to AFK your way to 99 mining.

How does the motherlode mine work?

There are two parts in the motherlode mine, the downstairs and the upstairs. You need level 72 mining to access the upstairs, which costs 100 golden nuggets. You can mine ore from the wall veins and receive a paydirt that rewards you with 60 experiences each. Go to the cleaning area when the inventory is full and place the paydirt into a hopper.

You will get the clean paydirt in the sack at the end of the circuit.

Level 61 (Gemstones)

Players can access the Shilo Village after completing the Hard Karamja diary. Gem rocks have good hourly profit rates and experience.

Levels 70-99 (Volcanic mine)

Easiest Way to Switch Spell Books

Once you have completed Desert Treasure, the easiest way to get back to an Alter to switch to your new Ancient Magicks spell book is to use another player’s owned house with an Ancient or Occult alter inside. Check-in with others in your clan or even public chat to find someone with one of these alters since you need a level 80 construction to build one! Most of these publicly open houses use the portals in Yanille & Rimmington.

Suppose you can’t find someone with an alter built. In that case, you can head back to the Jaldraocht Pyramid in the Kharidian Desert, where a tunnel entrance to the throne room is accessible on the south side of the pyramid once you have completed the Desert Treasure quest.

Note: When you pray to switch from the regular to the ancient spell book, your prayer points will go to zero.

• Master Wand – Requires 60 Magic to wield. It can be purchased from the mage training area by exchanging pizazz points or from another player! (This wand can be upgraded to the Kodai wand if the player has a Kodai Insignia acquired from completing the quest Chambers of Xeric)
• Kodai Wand – Requires 80 Magic to wield. Provides unlimited water runes, 15% chance to negate runes cost when casting an offensive spell, and 15% more magic damage.
• Nightmare Staff – Requires 72 Magic and 50 Hit Points to wield. Received as a drop from killing The Nightmare. Used to create the Eldritch and Volatile staves.
• Eldritch Nightmare Staff – Requires 82 Magic to wield, created from adding an Eldritch orb to the Nightmare Staff.
• Volatile Nightmare Staff – Requires 82 Magic to wield, created from adding a Volatile orb to the Nightmare Staff.

Ancient Magicks do a LOT of damage but at a cost. The spells below have a hefty price to pay to use, but they are well worth it, especially the ice spells in PvP modes such as Castle Wars or the TzHaar Fight Pit. This is probably why you are here, though, right?

You unlock four different classes of spells: Smoke, Shadow, Blood, and Ice. These different spells types each have four spells that you can also cast that add the specific spell type’s additional effect.

• Smoke Spells are the only spell that can inflict poison damage on other players and NPCs, making them very strong against high HP enemies.
• Shadow Spells lower the enemy’s attack level, reducing the amount of damage they can dish out.
• Blood Spells heal 25% of the damage dealt back to the caster.
• Ice Spells freeze the target in place, preventing it from moving.

With the four different spell types, you can cast four different spells: Rush, Burst, Blitz, and Barrage.

• Rush and Blitz are single-target attacks, with Blitz being more powerful than the Rush spells but more costly.
• Burst and Barrage spells are multi-target attacks that hit a 3×3 grid surrounding the target, causing the effect to all in the area cast. Like the single target spells, Barrage spells are more powerful than the Burst spells but cost more to cast.

Key things to keep in mind with the AOE spells. A larger creature like a Dragon takes up more than one space in the game. Whatever the size of the creature’s tile is, it will have a 3×3 effect from its effective size.

Ancient Teleportation Spells

The Ancients’ spell book gives us nine unique teleport spells located in both the Wilderness and the Zarosian Empire.

• Senntisten Teleport – 60 Magic – Runes to Cast – 2x Law 1x Soul – Teleports you to the Digsite, between the Southgate and the Exam Centre
• Kharyrll Teleport – 66 Magic – Runes to Cast – 1x Blood 2x Law – Teleports you to Canifis inside the Tavern
• Lassar Teleport – 72 Magic – Runes to Cast – 4x Water 2x Law – Teleports you to the top of Ice mountain
• Dareeyak Teleport – 78 Magic – Runes to Cast – 2x Air 3x Fire 2x Law – Teleports you to the western ruins in the Wilderness
• Carallangar Teleport – 84 Magic – Runes to Cast – 2x Law 2x Soul – Teleports you to the Graveyard of Shadows in the Wilderness
• Teleport to Target – 85 Magic – Runes to Cast – 1x Chaos 1x Death 2x Law – Teleports you to an assigned target in the Wilderness, only usable on Target worlds. This is a PvP element in the Wilderness.

Many teleports transport you to places that may otherwise take a long time to travel to and are very beneficial to any serious OSRS players out there. Don’t hesitate to get your Ancient Magicks to spell book, but remember just how costly it will be to cast these spells often!

What Are Crystal Shards?

Crystal Shards are helpful material found in the Elven city, Prifddinas. They can upgrade potions, charge magical items, and enhance Crystal Keys, unlock Elven Crystal Chests.

Method #1. Pickpocketing 

The first method for getting crystal shards is through Thieving. While in Prifddinas, pickpocket the various Elves around you without getting caught.

To do this task, you’ll need to make sure your Thieving Level is at 85 or higher, preferably at 99. You’ll also want to have completed the Hard Diaries equipped with a Thieving Cape and Dodgy Necklace. You’ll also want to have the Rouge’s Gear on, which ensures you’ll get twice as many shards per pickpocket.

While 85 is the minimum, because Elves are so keen, pickpocketing has a very high fail rate without maxing out your Thieving and using many of the items mentioned. Still, because you can still get caught potentially quite often while doing this, it is risky.

That said, if you can get away with this, you can manage to pull in between 26 and 28 shards per hour. Not only that, but you also have the chance of getting an Enhanced Crystal Teleport Seed. This seed can be fused with 100 crystal shards at a singing bowl, making an Eternal Crystal Teleport. While it is pretty expensive to make, you can sell it for a pretty good profit.

Method #2. Agility Course

Next up is completing the Prifddinas Agility Course. To do this, you’ll have to be in Prifddinas and have a Level 75 in Agility before starting. This is a much less intensive method of collecting shards as you’ll just be doing the course over and over. You can make between 10 to 15 Crystal Shards per hour doing this method.

In addition to getting crystals, because this is an agility course, you can also gather up a few levels in Agility, making this useful on both ends.

Method #3. Zalcano

The third method of farming shards is by facing off against Zalcano. Ideally done with a team, while facing off against him, spend a good portion of your time mining the walls. You’ll want to do this during any intermission or pause in his attacks or movements.

If you’re working with a team, if you get MVP, you can earn a considerable amount of loot and GP from this as well. As far as shards are concerned, you can get upwards of between 25 and 30 shards per hour as well as up to 1 million GP or more per hour.

Method #4. Trahaern Mine

Fourthly, by mining through the Trahaern Mine, you can pull between 5 and 10 crystal shards per hour. in addition, you also have a 1/127 chance of finding a crystal shard when opening up any rock you come across.

While you don’t have to be at any particular level when mining, the higher you are, the more you’ll get. Going in at 60 Mining or higher, you can bump your numbers up to 6-10 shards an hour. If you’re at 99 Mining, you could potentially get it up to 15 shards an hour.

Method #5. Woodcutting

Lastly, in the Prifddinas forests, you can use woodcutting to pull in crystal shards. Each chopped log gives you a 1/80 chance of finding a crystal shard. Woodcutting doesn’t have a base requirement, but ideally, you’ll want to be in the 60s or higher.

While all the trees have relative drop rates, I suggest chopping down Teak Trees. Not only will you get more crystal shards overall (roughly a maximum of 11 shards per hour), but you’ll also greatly improve your Woodcutting XP through Teak Trees.

Conclusion 

There are many ways to reliably farm out crystals in OSRS, and while all of them will require a bit of work on your end, they are all fairly simple. Consider the Agility Course or the Woodcutting method if you don’t know where to start. They won’t result in bigger hauls, but they also come with the lowest barrier to entry.

If you’re confident in your setup, consider jumping into the mines with Zalcano or testing out your pickpocketing abilities.
