Old School Runescape Lizard Shaman Guide
In OSRS, Shamans are pretty strong monsters that live in Zeah, mostly in the Shayzien House.
They are easy to fight, and they drop the coveted Dragon Warhammer why is why most players decide to battle and grind Lizard Shamans.
Requirements
100% Favour
Before anything, you must have a 100% Favour in the Shayzien House to fight the Lizard Shamans. However, do not worry because the Shayzien House is one of the fastest to complete, which makes this an underwhelming requirement. Additionally, most fights are done in ranged attacks.
75 Ranged
Therefore, it is advised to be level 75 Ranged Attack or more to fight these monsters. Apart from helping you combat the Shamans, the 75 Level is required to wield the Toxic Blowpipe. Nevertheless, if you are using a different weapon, you can consider this as a milestone to get started.
Recommended: Hard Kourend Diaries
If you feel that you are making very slow kills and have the bare minimum range level, it is best to train your Range level. The higher your Range level is, the faster your kills are going to be. It is also suggested to have your “Hard Kourend Diaries” completed if you plan on fighting these creatures on a Slayer task, Although it is not necessary to fight these monsters on a Lizardman task, it might help you speed up your kill a bit.
Recommended: High Agility Level
There is a lot of running involved in these combats, so it is also recommended to have many Stamina potions or a high Agility level. However, you will not be able to see a difference until you have entered a fight.

Gear and Inventory
Most of the gear necessary or that will help you fight the Shamans are not that difficult to obtain.
Inventory Setup
Shayzien Armor
One of the most critical items that you will need is Shayzien Armour. Each Tier 5 piece of the full set will bestow you a 20% chance to dodge a specific Shaman attack. You should know that Shamans have an Attack that can hit you pretty hard, but it can be entirely negated if you have the full Armour set. Since each piece gives you a 20% chance to dodge the attack, you will have a 100% chance to negate them with the five armor pieces.
You can obtain the set by fighting and defeating Shayzien and the warriors in the Combat Ring located within Shayzien. There are five warriors that you must defeat, and each one of them drops a different piece of the armor. However, you must start with Tier 1 and advance through each stage before obtaining the Shayxzien Tier 5 Armor. You must collect the five pieces of each tier before you can begin collecting the next tier. Thus, you will begin at tier 1 and then progress to tier 2, tier 3, and so on.
You are guaranteed to obtain the full set in five kills, so you will need 25 total kills to advance each tier. It is possible to kill the Shamans without this armor, but it can be quite challenging and tedious. Therefore, it is not recommended. Although all the pieces are great, the Helmet piece can be changed.
Helmet
The Helmet can be replaced by the Slayer Helmet when you obtained as a reward from completing the “Hard Kourened Diaries” quest chain. You just have to talk to Captain Cleive, and he will make your Slayer Helmet count as the Shayzien Tier 5 Helmet. If you do this, you will receive better stats and still fully negate all the Shamans’ attacks.
Cape
In your Cape slot, the best option is Ava’s devices. Although Ava’s Assembler is the best of them, not many players can complete Dragon Slayer 2 or have not done it when they fight the Lizard Shamans. So, your second-best choice is Ava’s Accumulator. So, it truly depends on how much time you want to invest in grinding for gear and equipment.
Necklace
In regards to your ranged items, your next best slot is the Necklace of Anguish. This item provides an extraordinary ranging accuracy bonus and a ranged Strength bonus, which is fairly unique for items that are not placed in the Ammo slots. If you are unable to obtain this necklace, your other options are the Amulet of Fury and the Amulet of Glory. However, the best of these two is the Amulet of Fury. You should only consider the Amulet of Glory if you simply do not want to level the slot empty since it is not as strong as the previous two items.
Weapon
Now, one of the most important items in your gear is your weapon slot. As said previously, the best weapon to fight the Shamans is the Toxic Blowpipe. I know many players who use the Twisted Bow as an alternative because it can crank up the monsters pretty hard, but it’s too expensive IMO. The Toxic Blowpipe can also be quite expensive for some players, and if you do not have enough money, you can opt for a Rune Crossbow. It will do the job as a weapon.
Either way, if you have enough money to buy it, then you should invest it to purchase the Toxic Blowpipe.
