Blast mining is a profitable and exciting way to mine ores in Old School RuneScape. This guide will teach you the requirements, gear, and methods to blast mine successfully.

Requirements

  • 43 mining, but having 60 mining will earn you much more GP per hour.
  • You also need 100% Lovakengj favor to start blast mining.

The hourly rates can vary between 40-80k mining XP per hour, depending on your level. You can also get 15k firemaking XP per hour and anywhere from 250k-900k GP per hour.

Ores

You can mine coal, gold, mithril, adamant, and rune ores at the blast mine. You can get these ores 10 levels earlier than you would normally be able to mine them. The XP gained varies widely, with the real money made once you’re at level 75 for Rune ore and decent at level 60 for Adamant ore.

Gear

  • A graceful set is recommended for this mining method.
  • A Hitpoints cape,
  • Regen Bracelet, and
  • Dragon Pickaxe are also recommended.

The Hitpoints cape and Regen Bracelet are used for healing health over time, and the Dragon Pickaxe is used for the Boost from the special attack.

Inventory

You will need four items in your inventory: a tinderbox, a chisel, a good amount of dynamite, and a Prospector Armor set(optional).

You will have the armor in the bank, but whenever you go to collect your ore, you’ll want to wear it to get more XP.

Location

Head to the Blast Mine to Karen in the Northwest part of Lovakengj. The simplest way to get here is through Xeric’s Talisman with the Inferno teleport. You can use Fairy ring code CIS or run up through the Lovakengj Minecraft network.

Method

If you have RuneLite make sure to use the Blast Mine plugin, which shows you how many ores you have along with the location on the walls.

There are walls everywhere, and that’s where you can mine out different ores. You can then place them in the ore sacks. There are also banks nearby. You can collect your ore from the operator.

Remember that you can only carry 450 of any ore in particular. The Northwest location requires the least running, so it is recommended.

This mining method uses dynamite to blast through rocks and obtain ores, which you can collect. The blast mining process requires some preparation and planning, including getting the necessary gear and meeting the skill requirements.

Simply fill your inventory with dynamite, a chisel and a tinderbox and head to the north-western location.

The order I Excavate is shown in the picture below. Excavate the first one. After that, place dynamite inside by pressing on the wall. Finally, light the fuse by pressing the wall again, before quickly proceeding to the number 2 location and repeating the process. After you do all 4, pick up the blasted ore. For numbers 4 and 3, you will do both sides, so in total 6 ores per trip. If you don’t move out in time, you will take quite a bit of damage.

When you have 6 pieces, deposit the ore into the ore sack and repeat the process until you have 450 ore.

Rewards

To collect your rewards, go to the operator and wear your prospector gear(if you have it) as that is when you get a big mining exp drop.
