For many people, any quests that put you in the Wilderness are considered pretty scary, particularly due to the constant PKers that roam certain areas. On top of that, depending on where you are, you’re liable to come across some pretty dangerous creatures as well. In this guide, we’ll break down exactly what you need to do and carry if you plan to go out into the Wilderness and perform any slayer quests.

Different Tasks You Can Do & Wilderness Slayer Locations

One thing about Wilderness quests is that they are incredibly varied. You can do just about any quest for some pretty good loot. However, in this breakdown, I’ll go over some of the more pressing ones that I recommend, either because of how much loot they offer or how easy it is to complete them.

#01. Ankou’s in the wilderness

Starting our list off, the Ankou’s is a pretty great option for farming regardless of your situation. They are easy to kill (though not quite AFK) while also having some good drops like runes and arrows.

To get there, you’ll either use a Burning Amulet or the Obelisk to reach Level 19 Wilderness.

Once you get to the forest, you’ll head for the Wilderness Slayer Cave where you’ll head to your right and follow the map.

#02. Aviansies in the wilderness

Aviansies in the Wilderness is pretty capable while also having some good drops. To reach them, head to the Obelisk in your home and teleport to Wilderness Level 27. Or use a burning amulet Bandit Camp teleport. From there, enter the Wilderness God Wars Dungeon to the northwest.

While Aviansies on their own aren’t dangerous, they are very aggressive and will immediately attack you the moment you engage with them. You can either set up a cannon or (if you’re a high enough level) turn on auto retaliate and kill them as they attack you. Make sure to use protect from missiles.

#03. Black Dragons  in the wilderness

Black Dragons are found over at the Wilderness Slayer Cave. They are pretty simple to kill overall, depending on your level. Use your cannon while hiding to the side so PKers can’t find you. We recommend using ranged while fighting them to expedite the process further.

#04. Chaos Druids in the wilderness

Chaos Druid tasks are simple enough. Just use the Burning Amulet to teleport to the Chaos Temple, which brings you right there.

Make sure you protect yourself from magic. You have an altar there, so no need for prayer potions.

#05. Dark Warriors in the wilderness

Dark Warriors are located just south of the bandit camp in the Dark warriors’ Fortress.

The easiest way to reach them is by using a burning amulet bandit camp teleport.

When reaching their area, you can AFK and auto-retaliate on because they are aggressive, just make sure to protect from melee. Make sure that none are respawning behind closed doors as that will get them stuck and waste your time.

#06. Greater Demons in the wilderness

Greater Demons in the wilderness can be found in the Wilderness Slayer Cave.

Greater Demons can offer you some nice loot. Just keep in mind that, because of the level, it is inhabited by some PKers, so always be on your guard. They’ll likely have tele-block ready if you’re visible, so consider hiding in a small corner so they won’t see you.

When dealing with the Greater Demons, you’ll want to have your cannon set up and have them all come and attack you.

#07. Green Dragons in the wilderness

Green Dragons are all-around pretty lucrative creatures to deal with in terms of their drops. You’ll want to use a Burning Amulet to get there quickly. You can also use the Obelisk to teleport there if your house has it constructed. Either way, you’ll want to head directly to the Wilderness Slayer Cave.

Once there, head along the right trail until you eventually go down a tunnel that directly puts you in front of the dragons.

These are tougher than standard Green Dragons, as they have 100 hp rather than 75 hp. When fighting them, use either a crossbow or a lance. You could use the cannon, but, depending on your level, you should be more than capable enough to handle them with the crossbow, considering how powerful it is. You’ll want to make sure you carry a few anti-fire potions.

One thing to remember (for good and bad) is that Green Dragons can respawn incredibly fast. While higher levels will benefit from this due to the large amounts of drops, if you are unsure about your stats, make sure to bring a fair bit of food with you to keep your health up.

#08. Hellhounds in the wilderness

Located in the Wilderness Slayer Cave, Hellhounds are at the far corner and are a great slayer task to complete.

You’ll want to bring out your cannon and let it wipe them out while in the center of any group.

#09. Hill Giants in the wilderness

Hill Giants in the wilderness are located at the Deep Wilderness Dungeon. From there, once you are facing them, find a cluster of them and move to the center.

If you have a Bone Crusher’s Necklace, bring it as it makes getting prayer restores much easier. Also bring a wilderness sword if you have it.

#10. Ice Warriors in the wilderness

Ice Warriors are pretty great in what they drop compared to their overall difficulty. While you shouldn’t expect many Larran’s Keys, they are very quick to handle, especially with the cannon.

To go there, consider using the Obelisk to teleport to level 44 Wilderness. You’ll want to have an Expeditious Bracelet as well as the cannon with you while dealing with them.

#11. Lava Dragons in the wilderness

To reach Lava dragons, you can use the

  1. Annakarl teleport – head west
  2. Canoue – head north east
  3. Mage arena teleport – head south
  4. Edgeville lever – head south

Because Lava Dragons can be pretty tricky, you want to have good range bonuses when dealing with them, or use magic and be sure to safespot them.

If you are lower level be sure to bring an anti-dragon shield. Bring anti-fire potions as well.

#12. Lesser Demons In the Wilderness

While not as lucrative as Greater Demons, Lesser Demons are much easier to deal with and a good time/cost investment.

To get there, the best way is to use a Dark Crab wilderness crab teleport. This will pretty much take you directly to the Wilderness Slayer Cave. Once there, head to the far left corner of the map. There, you’ll encounter a small nest of Lesser Demons.

Once in there, you can either fight them through melee combat or with the cannon. Remember that the cannon is much faster and more effective than melee combat. If you use the cannon, it is important to set it off to the left-most wall. This will ensure you are hidden from any PKers that may be patrolling the area and willing to kill you for your stuff.

#13. Mammoths in the wilderness

On the whole, Mammoths are one of the more straightforward slayer tasks on this list. Their drops aren’t spectacular, but they’re just so easy, it doesn’t matter.

Head over to an Obelisk at your home and teleport to Level 11 Wilderness. From there, you should immediately run into a mammoth’s den on your right. Just run through and set up your cannon.

Unlike most of the other options on this list, Mammoths are great in that they are very much an AFK experience that you can set to work while doing other things. If you want to speed it up, by all means, but you don’t have to.

#14. Moss Giants in the wilderness

Moss Giants in the wilderness are located just east of the Revenant cave. The fastest way to get to them is by using a Revenant Cave Teleport scroll and run just slightly to the east.

Once there, go and set up your cannon in an area surrounded by them and let it do the work for you. It is pretty AFK task and a great way to get Mossy Keys if you need them.

#15. Revenants in the wilderness

For Revenants, you’ll want to bring a Salve Amulet and a charged Bracelet of Ethereum along with you during the slaying process. As Revenants are just ghosts of different other creatures, there are various ones you can kill. They are located in the Revenant Caves, which can be accessed from the 3 locations shown in the picture below:

Choose the revenant based on your level, there are both high and low-level ones.

#16. Scorpions in the wilderness

Scorpions, like others, is very great in terms of doing it quickly and getting some pretty nice loot. You’ll want to use Expeditious Bracelets, make sure to bring some anti-venom as well. Go to the Scorpion pit, where the Scorpia boss is, located in level 55 wilderness. You can get here by using the

  • Edgeville lever – run east
  • Mage arena teleport – run east
  • Annakarl teleport – run north

The fastest to get here is through the edgeville lever.

#17. Skeletons in the wilderness

For Skeleton in the wilderness, use the Burning Amulet to teleport to the Bandit Camp in Level 17 Wilderness. This task is relatively easy so you shouldn’t have to use a cannon. Run south, just south of the Dark warriors Fortress, you’ll find a pit in which there are lots of skeletons.

#18. Spiders in the wilderness

You can find Spiders in the wilderness just north of Lava Dragon isle, on Sapphire Hill. You can get here using the

  • Revenant Cave Teleport Scroll
  • Canoue
  • Mage Arena Teleport
  • Edgeville lever

The task is very easy and, if you use a cannon, pretty much entirely AFK. That said, don’t expect a lot of good drops from this. You can also kill Venenatis as she counts as a spider and is located in the wilderness as well.

#19. Spiritual Creatures in the wilderness

Spiritual Creatures, along with Greater Demons, are among the most loot-heavy methods on this list. To get there, you’ll use the Obelisk to head into the Wilderness and then to the Wilderness God Wars Dungeon.

When inside, you’ll face a few spiritual creatures. The ones that will take most of your attention are the Spiritual Mages. They respawn surprisingly often, so be on the lookout for them even after killing them the first time.

#20. Zombies in the wilderness

Zombies are a great task to complete if you need the Zombie Champion’s Scroll. You can find Zombies in the wilderness at the Forgotten Cemetery.

So long as you have auto-retaliate on and have a cannon set up, this should be a relatively simple process overall.

FAQs

“What Wilderness Areas and Tasks Should I Avoid?”

While all areas have pros and cons, I suggest steering clear of these tasks while in the Wilderness, as it will save you a lot of time and stress.

#1. Fire Giants

Fire Giants, while they can net you some ok GP and EXP, they are too far into the Wilderness for it to be worth it. Not only that, but they aren’t spread out or in multiple areas, but rather one singular place. If you’re trying to maximize your time, consider not wasting it on Fire Giants.

#2. Ice Giants

Ice Giants are way out in the Wilderness and are a hassle to get to like Fire Giants. Unlike Fire Giants, Ice Giants don’t even offer enough loot or experience to justify the travel out to get to them. They are all around just frustrating to deal with.

#3. Magic Axes

Magic Axes are pretty much just dumb and frustrating. Even if you’re not going as far out as the Fire and Ice Giants, you’re still going too far for what you get.

#4. Ents

Ents, more than anything, are just an annoying scenario all-around. Yeah, they aren’t horrible in terms of loot, but not enough to jump through all the hoops you’re inevitably going to have to jump through.

#5. Earth Warriors

Earth Warriors are valuable and worth considering ONLY if you need to get the Champion Scroll. If you’ve already got that, then they are kind of redundant and a waste of time to deal with. Lots of PKers here too.

#6. Rogues

Finally, Rogues are in multi and are just way too deep into the Wilderness. They are the culmination of all of these issues in that they are difficult to deal with, annoying, far out, and don’t give you anything worth everything you go through.
