While not the best exp, slaying Turoths is a great method for acquiring gold. If you’re a starting player or someone that simply wants a relatively easy way to pocket some money slaying, this is something worth considering.
In this guide, I’ll be going over what you should expect, as well as what stats, gear, and items you’ll need to effectively go through the task.
What are Turoths
Turoths are members-only slayer monsters that have a combat level of 83+. While not aggressive, they can only be damaged by leaf-based weapons, broad arrows & bolts, or the use of the Magic Dart spell.
However, if you are using any of these weapons, you’ll find that the Turoth is highly susceptible to them. They are weak to all forms of damage, though “stab” generally is recognized as the optimal option. They have a melee-based attack style and a Max Hit of 10.
When slain, Turoths have a 1/128 chance of dropping a Hard Clue, a 1/385 chance of dropping a leaf-bladed sword, and an average of around 1,400 GP per kill.
Turoths Requirements & Setups
Turoths are very simple creatures to deal with.
In terms of what your stats should be, you’ll only need 55+ in Slayer to slay Turoths. If you want to focus on anything else, you’ll want to consider raising your melee up, but even that isn’t 100% required overall.
You can go either melee or ranged in terms of what items you should use against them. As mentioned earlier, while both methods do work, the ideal route to take is melee. That said, there will be some different gear listed that you can consider using.

Expected Exp Rates
Based on the nature of your character, the amount of exp you can pull in will vary substantially. Characters at level 70+ will roughly net around 15k exp per hour. Characters at level 85+ will pull in around 17k exp per hour. Characters that have a maxed melee will make up to 21k per hour. For characters that have Piety can add in an additional 25k per hour of exp, making it worth considering.
Turoth Location
You’ll want to head out to the Rellekka Cave.
Teleportation Options
- Slayer Ring
- Fairy Ring (AJR)
- Relleka House Teleport
To do that, you can teleport using the slayer ring. This will take you right outside the cave’s entrance and is the best option overall.
If you don’t have a slayer ring, the second-best option is the Fairy Ring (AJR). This will similarly teleport you outside the cave entrance, though only slightly off.
Finally, if you don’t have either ring, the third-best method is the Rellekka House Tele, which teleports you on the westernmost side of the map. It’s not too bad of a walk, so if you have no other option, you should still get there in a relatively short amount of time.
Once you enter the cave, you’ll have to traverse the long path. You can circumvent much of this by going through an Agility obstacle near the entrance. This requires you to have an agility of 81.
Keep following the length of the cave until you reach the end. You’ll come across a second agility obstacle to cut through the map faster. This will be near a group of Basilisks. This is a much more accessible option and only requires you to have an agility of 62.
Once you’ve reached the final area, you’ll be in an entire nest of Turoth that you can slay. As mentioned earlier, they are not aggressive, meaning you will have to make the first move. So long as your defense is high enough, you should be able to clear through this with very little issue.
