Although the drop rate of skilling pets is extremely low, there are some tricks to help you increase your chances of receiving one. Let’s go through the pets.

Agility – Penguin Agility Course

It requires level 30 agility alongside the completion of the cold war quest. Of all the skilling pets, this is the one with the best drop rate at 1 in 9,799. If you complete 55 laps per hour, it should take you around 492 hours to get the pet.

The Ardougne Course

You will need level 90 agility, and the drop rate of the pet is 1 in 34,400. This means that you will have to complete 70 laps per hour to be looking at an average of 492 hours to get the pet.

Thieving

Pyramid Plunder

The thieving skilling pet is the quickest pet to get, and the fastest method to do so is rushing through the pyramid plunder; ignore all the urns and focus on looting the gold chests in each room.

The drop rate of the pet stands at 1 in 1,602 (with level 91 thieving). The average number of hours you will have to complete is 80, as long as you complete 20 runs per hour. Additionally, with the thieving pet’s current price, you will also be making around 2 million per hour on average.

Ardougne Knights

This is another method that relies mainly on pick-pocketing. With level 95 thieving and the ardougne diary completed, it is a safe bet. The drop rate of the pet from pick-pocketing knights is 1 in 257, 211.

This method’s benefit is that it is less demanding, and you will be making more XP.

Mining Gem Rocks

The best chance at getting the mining pet is through the gem rocks underneath Shilo village. You must have completed the Karamja hard diary quest to access the area plus level 52 mining.

The drop rate of the pet is 1 in 211,886. You can expect to get the pet at an average rate of 900 rocks per hour after 235 hours.

Fishing 3-tick Barbarian Fishing

This is an excellent choice to get the fishing skilling pet. The chances of getting the pet are 1 in 426, 954. If you catch around 1,600 fish per hour, you can expect a pet drop after 267 hours.

Woodcutting

2-tick Teaks

This is not only the fastest XP method in the game but also the quickest to get the pet. The method is click-intense, but the good news is that it will only take you 126 hours to get the pet on average.

Redwoods

This method is more AFK, getting a pet takes around 393 hours of chopping 185 logs per hour.

Farming

Training is a little harder to predict, but the best recommendation is to follow your daily tree runs, plant your fruit trees, replant the cactus, replant your bushes between runs, etc. In comparison, cactus have a drop rate of 1 in 7,000, whereas fruit trees have 1 in 9,000.

Runecrafting

Fire and Lava Runes

These types of runes give you equal chances of getting the rune-crafting pet. The drop rate of the pet is 1 in 1,795, 758 chances. In this scenario, you can expect to get the pet after 264 hours.

Fire runes give you much less XP per hour, but it does give you a better chance of getting the pet because you don’t have to waste extra inventory spaces on imbuing runes, earth and lava stacks, and the binding necklace.

Mind Runes

Yet a better chance of getting the pet is found in the arceuus spellbook. The mind altar teleport allows for fast trips. On average, you could get 40k XP per hour with this method, and your chances of getting the pet would be at 249 hours.

Hunter – Chinchompas

The hunter pet can only be obtained through hunting chinchompas. Black chins are your best option since they have a drop rate of 1 in 82,758. By 3-ticking them, you should hunt around 630 per hour, which means you can expect to get the pet after 131 hours of hunting.
