OSRS Gauntlet Mini-Game Guide

Old School Runescape Gauntlet Guide

This guide is about how to beat the Gauntlet in Old School RuneScape or OSRS. The Gauntlet is a mini-game with 49 random rooms. In this place, you cannot take any equipment or gear with you.

You have 10 minutes to make your weapons, gear, potions, and food, with the materials that are available in the rooms. When you are geared up, what you do now is to fight the Gauntlet boss, which is the Crystalline Hunllef, which has level 674.

Requirements

You need the Song of the Elves and all the quests that you have to take before this one. However, it is also recommended that you complete King’s Ransom.

The requirements for the Song of the Elves are level 70 for Agility, Farming, Herblore, Hunting, Construction, Woodcutting, Smithing, and Mining.

You also need to have level 50 Thieving, level 30 Cooking, 5 Fletching, 43 Prayer, and 60 Range.

Recommended It would be best to have level 70 or 77 for Prayer and at least 80 for your magic, range, defence, attack, and strength.

Gauntlet Location

To get there, you have to use the Gauntlet Portal, which can be found on the northwest side of Prifddinas. You may use the house teleport or the crystal teleport seed.

Once you are in the Gauntlet lobby, you may deposit your items in the bank box, or you may try to enter, and the mini-game portal will then hold your items until the time you leave.

Gauntlet Overview

Inside the Gauntlet, you will see the deposit box where you may bank your items.

The rewards chest is where you will collect your rewards. There is also the exit to teleport outside and the entrance which you used to enter. There is also Bryn with whom you need to talk to before you enter.

Then you will see the lecterns on one side, which explains how you can make potions and items. After you have spoken to Bryn, you may enter the Gauntlet.

In the room that you enter, you will see the teleport outside, a water pump, a singing bowl, a range, tool storage, and lecterns.

Weapons

You may create a bow, a halberd, and a staff. There are three tiers for each of the weapons.

  • For tier 1, you are required to use 20 shards and a weapon frame.
  • For tier 2, you need 60 shards.
  • For tier 3, you need a spike or orb or bowstring.

Armor

When it comes to the armor, there are also three pieces available: helmet, legs, and body that also have three tiers.

For tier 1, you need ore, wool, bark, and 40 shards. To upgrade to tier 2, you need 2 ore, 2 wool, 2 bark, and 60 shards. And for tier 3, you need 3 ore, 3 wool, 3 bark, and 80 shards.

Teleport Crystals and Empty Shards

You may create teleport crystals for 40 shards per crystal and create empty vials for 10 shards per vial.

There is also a potion here called the Egniol potion, a combination of the stamina and prayer potions.

Tips and Tricks

When it comes to defeating the boss, you need at least two weapons in which at least one of these weapons must be at tier 3and the other at least tier 2. You also need a tier 3 chest, a tier 2 legs, a tier 1 or 2 helm, at least 10 to 15 food at a minimum, two egniol potions, and 1 to 2 teleports.

This means that to create these materials, you will need 10 pieces of ore, 10 pieces of bark, 10 pieces of wool, 2 weapon frames, 2 grym leaves, 560 shards, and 1 or 2 orb or spike or bowstring.

Gameplay

Here, what you should do is walk to rooms to kill monsters with low levels to obtain the materials you need. You need to pick up the items that are available in the room until you have a full inventory.

You should also drop the wool, bark, grym leaves, and ore that you have collected right next to the singing bowl. Then you should buy 2 vials, a bow, a teleport crystal, and then you should upgrade your bow.

Cook your fish and drop the vials nearby. Then start collecting resources again.

Fill up your inventory once again. Then you need to upgrade your weapon for it to reach tier 3, another weapon to reach level 2 or 3, cook any fish that you have once more and drop them, and buy a teleport crystal.

Go back to collecting more resources until you can make a tier 3 body, a tier 1 or 2 helm, a tier 2 legs, 2 Egniol potions, and then go back to cooking the fish that you have.

Boss Fight

The boss has 5 different attacks

A regular magic attack(protect from magic), and a regular range attack(protect from missiles)

A special purple attack(move around when you see this and protect from magic), if you stand still it will damage you hard.

a special attack in the room with the tiles changing color to orange(do not stand on them as they will damage you heavily), it will also disable prayer randomly, with no animation.

The final boss’s attack is if ever that you walk under it, then he will trample you for high amounts of damage.

The boss will always be praying one weapon style, so you should use a combat style that isn’t that one, since he is praying magic here I’m using ranged.

After 4 attacks he will change combat style he attacks with, so you need to be swapping you protection prayers.
