Today we are going to check on the fletching skill which is one of the laziest yet fastest skills to do. The two methods would be fletching the bow and stringing the bow.
Quests and tools
There are a total of 6 quests that you can do for this fletching skill and all these skills will give you a total of 19074 experience points. The quests are as follows.
- Big chompy bird hunting – 262 XP
- Animal magnetism – 1000 XP
- Zogre flesh eaters – 2000 XP
- The Fremmenik trials – 2812 XP
- Devious minds – 5000 XP
- Temple of Ikov – 8000 XP
You only need 3 things and that are logs, a knife and a little bit of money, and also bowstrings (if you are doing one of the other methods)
Fletching only (method #1)
Level 1 to 10
At this level, you will be fletching arrow shafts and you will need 231 logs. This will give you 5 experiences per fletched item for a total of 1154 experiences. You will finish this in 10 minutes and will cost you about 4200 GP. Unfortunately, you will lose about 600 GP (no profit). After this level, there will be a split between fletching and stringing.
Level 10 to 20
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung longbow and you will need 332 logs. Each fletched item will give you 10 XP for a total of 3316 experience. The total XP per hour would be between 14k to 15k. The time spent would be 15 minutes. It will cost you 6000 Gp and will lose about 2300 GP (no profit)
Level 20 to 25
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung oak shortbow and you will need 205 logs. Each fletched item will give you 16.5 XP for a total of 3372 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 23k to 25k. The time spent would be 5 to 10 minutes. It will cost you 5300 Gp and will lose about 2300 GP (no profit)
level 25 to 35
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung oak longbow and you will need 583 logs. Each fletched item will give you 25 XP for a total of 14564 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 35 to 38k. The time spent would be 20 to 30 minutes. It will cost you 15200 Gp and will give a profit of about 1700 GP
Level 35 to 40
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung willow short bow and you will need 446 logs. Each fletched item will give you 33.25 XP for a total of 14818 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 46 to 50k. The time spent would be 15 to 25 minutes. It will cost you 7100 Gp and will give a profit of about 9800 GP
Level 40 to 50
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung willow longbow and you will need 1545 logs. Each fletched item will give you 41.5 XP for a total of 64109 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 58 to 63k. The time spent would be 1.25 hours. It will cost you 24800 Gp and will give a profit of about 35500 GP
Level 50 to 55
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung maple short bow and you will need 1307 logs. Each fletched item will give you 505 XP for a total of 65303 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 70 to 75k. The time spent would be 50 to 60 minutes. It will cost you 92000 Gp and will give a profit of about 81000 GP
Level 55 to 70
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung maple longbow and you will need 9803 logs. Each fletched item will give you 58.25 XP for a total of 570991 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 81 to 87k. The time spent would be 6.5 to 7 hours. It will cost you 68000 Gp and will give a profit of about 420000 GP
Level 70 to 85/99
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung yew longbow and you will need 33613 logs. Each fletched item will give you 75 XP for a total of 2520967 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 105 to 112k. The time spent would be 22 to 24 hours. It will cost you 5.6 to 5.7 million Gp and will give a profit of about 2.9 to 3 million GP. If you do not want to have lots of gold tied up, consider going this route instead to 99.
Level 85 to 99
At this level, you will be fletching unstrung magic longbow and you will need 106840 logs. Each fletched item will give you 91.5 XP for a total of 9775837 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 128 to 138k. The time spent would be 70 to 77 hours. It will cost you 103 to 105 million Gp and will give a profit of about 1.5 to 1.7 million GP
Fletching and stringing (method #2)
Level 10 to 20
At this level, you will be fletching longbow and you will need 166 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 20 XP for a total of 3316 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 18k to 19k. The time spent would be 15 to 20 minutes. It will cost you 32000 Gp and will lose about 24500 GP (no profit)
Level 20 to 25
At this level, you will be fletching oak shortbow and you will need 103 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 33 XP for a total of 3372 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 30k to 32k. The time spent would be 7 to 12 minutes. It will cost you 20700 Gp and will lose about 17100 GP (no profit)
Level 25 to 35
At this level, you will be fletching oak longbow and you will need 292 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 50 XP for a total of 14564 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 46 to 48k. The time spent would be 15 to 20 minutes. It will cost you 58700 Gp and will lose about 42600 GP (no profit)
Level 35 to 40
At this level, you will be fletching willow short bow and you will need 223 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 66.5 XP for a total of 14818 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 60 to 62k. The time spent would be 15 to 20 minutes. It will cost you 42600 Gp and will lose about 32800 GP (no profit)
Level 40 to 50
At this level, you will be fletching willow longbow and you will need 773 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 83 XP for a total of 64109 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 76 to 78k. The time spent would be 45 to 60 minutes. It will cost you 145 to 150k Gp and will lose about 40000 GP (no profit)
Level 50 to 55
At this level, you will be fletching maple short bow and you will need 654 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 100 XP for a total of 65303 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 90 to 95k. The time spent would be 50 to 60 minutes. It will cost you 115 to 120k Gp and will gain about 28000 GP
Level 55 to 65
At this level, you will be fletching maple longbow and you will need 2427 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 116.5 XP for a total of 285792 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 105 to 110k. The time spent would be 2.5 to 3 hours. It will cost you 440 to 450k Gp and will gain about 250k GP
Level 65 to 70
At this level, you will be fletching yew short bow and you will need 2134 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 135 XP for a total of 288199 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 120 to 130k. The time spent would be 2.25 to 2.75 hours. It will cost you 700 to 750k Gp and will gain about 33k GP
Level 70 to 80
At this level, you will be fletching yew longbow and you will need 8322 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 150 XP for a total of 1248441 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 135 to 140k. The time spent would be 8.5 to 9.5 hours. It will cost you 2.8 to 2.8 million Gp and will gain about 1.6 to 1.75 million GP
Level 80 to 85
At this level, you will be fletching magic short bow and you will need 7666 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 166 XP for a total of 1272526 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 150 to 155k. The time spent would be 8 to 8.5 hours. It will cost you 8.8 to 8.9 million Gp and will lose about 2.6 to 2.7 million GP (no profit)
Level 85 to 99
At this level, you will be fletching magic longbow and you will need 53419 logs and strings. Each fletched item will give you 183 XP for a total of 9775837 experiences. The total XP per hour would be between 170 to 175k. The time spent would be 55 to 60 hours. It will cost you 61 to 62 million Gp and will gain about 8.2 to 8.4 million GP
Method #3
1-35
Fletching and stringing have the same amount of XP. Stringing is faster but less AFK with a varying GP rate. To make this profitable, you can add in a headless arrow up to level 35. Adding feathers to the arrow will cost more GP but give more XP than a fletching bow. With this, you can get up to 45k XP per hour now. You will need 24406 arrows to hit level 35 with a 67k profit which will take 30 minutes.
35-40
From level 35 to 40 you will make willow short bows. stringing costs you money but fletching will give a decent amount of profit. I will get about 55k XP/hour and need 445 logs to hit level 40 and will receive a 10k GP profit.
40-50
Level 40 to 50 would be willow longbow and will get 70k XP/hour.
50-55
To reach level 50 you need 1545 logs and you will get a 60k profit. From levels 50 to 55 you will make maple short bows. You will get 85 XP/hour and stringing gives 120k XP/hour. You will have 1317 logs to hit level 55 and you will earn about 315k profit by fletching.
55-65
From levels 55 to 65 you will make maple longbows. You make 100k XP/ hour by fletching and 140k XP/hour by stringing. You need 4851 bows to reach level 65 and you will make about 315k by fletching and 425k by stringing.
65-70
From levels 65 to 70 you will make yew short bows. You will get 115k XP/hour fletching and 165k XP/hour stringing. You need 4269 bows to hit level 70 and make 180k profit by stringing.
70-85/99
From level 70 to 85 you can make yew longbows. To hit 85 you need 33613 bows and you get a profit of 3.2 million. If making direct to 99 you will need 163598 bows and earn a profit of 16 million.
65-99
From 65 to 99 you can make magic longbows and you will get 155k fletching and 225k XP per hour of stringing. You need 106840 logs and a profit of 14 million for stringing and 2.4 million for fletching
0 Time method – Agility+Fletching (method #4)
The fletching dart does not interrupt movement and has no dialog box allowing you to do fletching while doing agility in between. Multiple sets can be fetched per tick and they fletch as fast as you can click that is why it is called the 0-time method. Bolt and Darts are expensive and will not give any profit. The only profitable one is broad bolts

- buy limit is only 700
- Dragon bolts 2.5 GP/XP
- buy limit is 13k
- Requires 84 fletching
- Dragon dart – 14 GP/XP
- Mithril dart – 6 GP/XP
Other than this you can also tip bolts with gems, finishing javelin, and finishing arrow for this 0-time method.
