OSRS 1-99 Crafting Guide

In OSRS, crafting is a life skill that grants you the ability to create certain items, like pottery, armor, and jewelry. Crafting is a rather expensive skill to train, but you do obtain many benefits from it.

One of its benefits is obtaining the Skill Cape Teleport, the best bank teleport in the game. Therefore, it is important to know how to level up your Crafting from Level 1 to 99.

Leveling Guide

Most guides provide certain quests that you can do to jumpstart your Crafting training. However, Crafting is such a unique skill that you can obtain a lot of crafting experience in the early levels that these quests hardly make a difference for your experience. Also, crafting is one of the simplest skills to train. What you need to start crafting is money, that’s all! Nevertheless, remember to do all the crafting quests eventually to complete your account’s progress in OSRS.

Level 1-8 Leather Gloves

At level 1 Crafting, you can make leather gear that is very cheap and simple to make. You need leather, a needle, and some thread at the beginning. You can make leather gloves up to level 8 crafting. It will only take you a few minutes to reach level 8. You will need around 50 to 100 threads and 114 leather.

Level 8-33 Gold Amulet (u)

From levels 8 to 33 crafting, you can make unstrung gold amulets. You need gold bars and an amulet to craft this item at any furnace available in OSRS. You can earn around 45k experience points per hour, but you can also make a small amount of profit from them. You can make these at Edgeville furnace or Al-kharid.

You will need to uses at least 582 gold bars to reach level 33 Crafting. One of the best locations to craft the gold amulets is at the Edgeville furnace.

Before, you could only use it if you were a member, but I believe that this requirement has been removed. If you are still unable to use this furnace, you can travel to the Falador or Al Kharid furnace to make it. It is a great option to increase your level and make some profit at the same time.

Level 33-54 Glassblowing

Upon reaching level 33 Crafting, you can now commence glassblowing.

Vials

At level 33, you can make vials and earn about 60K of experience points per hour.

Fishbowl

Then, at level 42, you can transition to fishbowls, which gets around 75K exp/hour.

Unpowered Orbs

Finally, at level 46, you can move on to Unpowered orbs, and these items yield a whopping 90k to 100k experience points per hour.

From these three items, the vials and the fishbowls offer more GP per experience because they are so cheap to sell back, but you have the minimum experience to gain, and it will not cost you that much in the end. When you reach the level to craft unpowered orbs, this is one of the cheapest ways to make level 99 crafting while still at a reasonable speed.

There is still an option to make Lantern Lenses at level 49, but these are not worth it. This is because they are more expensive, but do not yield enough experience worth your time and money. If you stick to glassblowing from level 33 to level 54 Crafting, you will require 2,888 molten glass to make all this item at each rank unlocked.

However, if you decide to take glassblowing to level 99 because you do not have that much money to spend, it will cost around 30 mil with unpowered orbs to do it.

Level 54-63 Battlestaves

From level 54, you can craft battle staves, which offer a lot of experience overall but are still not the most expensive way to reach level 99 Crafting. Thus, apart from glassblowing, this is another method that you can use to complete your Crafting levels.

However, battle staves are not as AFK as you would think, and it is a sacrifice that you must make to earn faster experience points.

There are different elemental staves you can make, depending on your level.

Water Staffs

At level 54, you can make water staves, which make about 170k to 180k experience points per hour, and you will need 736 water orbs.

Earth Orbs

At level 58, you can switch to earth orbs and make between 195k to 210k per hour. You will need 972 earth orbs.

Fire Orbs

Finally, at level 62, you can switch to fire orbs, and you will need around 279 fire orbs. The fire orbs make around 210k to 225k experience points per hour. If you want, you will only need to make 1,987 battle staves reach level 63 Crafting.

Additionally, you can sell your battle staves to Zaff, the shop owner in Varrock for a good amount of money cheaper than you can buy them at the Grand Exchange. You could buy them from his barrel if you completed some “Varrock Diaries” quests. The higher-tier Diary you do, the more battle staves you can buy each day from Zaff, which will help you save a bit of money overall.

Level 63-99 Dragonhide Bodies

You can make dragonhide bodies to increase your level from level 63 to level 99 Crafting.

At level 63, you can start making Green Leather, which yields about 240k to 250k experience points per hour.

When you reach level 71, you can begin making blue leather and earn around 275k to 290k experience per hour.

At level 77, you can switch to red leather and make around 305k to 320k experience points per hour.

Finally, you can craft black leather at level 84, which will earn you about 340k to 350 experience points per hour and reach level 99.

In regards to supplies, you will need 7,194 green dragonhide leather, 9,447 blue dragonhide leather, 18,921 red dragonhide leather, and 134,406 black dragonhide leather to increase your level to 99 Crafting.

Alternative Methods

Bowstrings

Low requirement money making method, you can get up to 25k exp/hour and around 200k gp/hour. These rates only apply if you have done the medium Kandarin diaries, since it speeds up your spinning time(only applies to spinning wheel in Seer’s Village). Only recommended for low levels.

Bracelets

You can often break even and in some cases even profit with making bracelets. The issue with this is you have to buy alot of gems in advance over time.

Cutting Gems

Can provide insane experience rates of up to 300k/hour, but it is a very expensive method.
