In this guide, we’ll be going over the most efficient method and order you can use to unlock the different slayer rewards in Oldschool Runescape. By following this, you’ll have a more efficient character to play with as well as a myriad of awesome rewards. Since there are so many things to track and be aware of, it is a bit difficult to decide where to start first.
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Unlock #1: Bigger and Badder
Your first unlock should be the “Bigger and Badder” unlock option. This allows you to get superior versions of the slayer monsters you’re currently dealing with. You can only use this unlock when on a slayer task. Superior Slayer Monsters also offer additional XP rewards on top of better overall loot when killed. While a few won’t have this ability, the vast majority will.
This unlock requires 150 points to activate.
Unlock #2: Malevolent Masquerade
Malevolent Masquerade is largely considered a “Slayer Helm unlock” and offers significant protection and resistance against slayer monsters. It also offers a DPS bonus due to the Black Mask addition to the helmet. What makes it even better is that it does all of this with only one item as opposed to having to use multiple forms of protection like before.
To unlock this reward, you’ll need 400 points.
Unlock #3: Ring Bling
Ring Bling does require you to be a bit of a higher level to enjoy. You’ll also need a Crafting Level of 75. That said, its perks are well worth it. You’ll have the ability to teleport to virtually all of the slayer base locations, drastically reducing the amount of time spent traveling from one location to the other.
As mentioned earlier, you’ll need a 75 in Crafting to get this. You’ll also need 300 points.
Unlock #4: Like A Boss
An ok option if you’ve got the other rewards already. You’ll ideally want to have your Combat Level at 100 as well as either a Mage or Range Level at 80, as these boss opponents can certainly be difficult to deal with otherwise. This allows you the option for completing boss-level slayer tasks.
You’ll need 200 slayer reward points to unlock this reward.
Unlock #5: To Dust You Shall Return
This reward unlock helps out with the Dust Devil tasks for most mid-level and beyond players. If you are a magic player, this is a great way to beef up your character.
You’ll need only 100 points to unlock this reward.
Unlock #6: Herb Sack & Rune Pouch
This is ideal for those who don’t have either already or are doing an Ironman run. Both grant you the ability to store all of your herbs and runes into one slot of your inventory, greatly expanding the amount of space you have.
Both items cost 750 points each to unlock.
Additional Unlocks To Consider
The above six are the most essential ones worth getting. If you’ve already got those, consider getting these additional unlocks based on which ones you like most.
#7. Gargoyle Smasher
This unlock allows you to automatically kill any gargoyles in an area while fighting. Great for those that like AFKing as many situations as possible. It requires 120 points to unlock.
#8. Get Smashed
A great option for extending gargoyle slayer tasks and increasing the amount of GP you’re given. This reward requires 100 points to unlock.
#9. Wyver-nother One
Like the “Get Smashed” extension but or wyverns instead of gargoyles. You’ll need 100 slayer points to unlock.
#10. Nechs Please
A great option for those that like facing down nechryaels. This unlock turns them into bigger tasks, extending them and giving you more XP as a result. You’ll need 100 slayer points to unlock.
#11. Bleed Me Dry
Extends Bloodveld tasks. You’ll need only 75 points to unlock as well as to have completed the quest, “If Sins of the Father”.
#12. Broader Fletching
It is a great method for those who want to fletch either their arrows or crossbow bolts. Requires 300 slayer points to unlock.
#13. Fire & Darkness
Great for King Black Dragon fans as well as lower-level players. Requires only 50 points to unlock.
#14. It’s Dark Here
Great way to make good GP against demonic gorillas. You’ll need 100 slayer points to unlock.
#15. Hot Stuff
Ideal for those interested in trying out for a pet. This also gives you a lot of good XP and only requires 100 points to unlock.
#16. Shroom Sprayer
Similar to Gargoyle Smasher but for zygomites. This is great as an AFK experience and you’ll need 110 points to unlock it.
#17. Undead Head
This is a great option for those that want to recolor their helmet. It cost 1,000 slayer reward points to unlock. Doesn’t do much more than that, but that’s all you’d’ need at this point.
