OSRS: How to Get Ice Gloves Guide

Ice gloves are primarily used for the Blast Furnace as they eliminate the need of using a bucket of water. They have other uses as well in several quests and for certain recipes. Obtaining the gloves is a relatively simple task and requires some minimal preparation.

Ice Gloves Usage

  • The ice gloves can be used for several crafting recipes and quests as follows:
  • Can be used to pick up the black cog in the Clock Tower quest.
  • Needs to be used to pick up Entrana firebird’s fire feather in the Heroes’ quest.
  • Needed to wield weapons when facing Fareed in the Desert Treasure quest.
  • Can be used in the Recipe for Disaster quest to cool dwarven rock and use any weapon against Flambeed.
  • Can be used to pick up hot bars in the Blast Furnace without needing buckets of water.
  • Can be used to fish for infernal eels in Mor UI Rek

Ice Gloves Requirements

You will need to have level 50 mining and a pickaxe. Bring some ranging and prayer potions that are optional and should also use food.

To make the fight easier, you can use Protect from Melee.

The Ice Queen is relatively easy to kill despite having a high level. She is level 111 but has 105 HP.

How to Get Ice Gloves

Travel to White Wolf Mountain. Getting there can be done with the glider system.

To get them, you will need to kill the Ice Queen. She drops the gloves and can be reobtained as many times as needed. The Ice Queen is also an NPC that can be found beneath the mountain, but the gloves can be obtained without starting Heroes’ Quest as you can fight her without the quest.

To find the Ice Queen, you will need to look for a rock slide that can be found at the northern base of the mountain. Mine the rock slide, then go south where you will see some ladders sticking out from the ground. Climb down the most southern ladder.

Once you descent, use Protect from Melee if available. Continue moving towards the southwestern side of the map until you find a ladder.

Use the ladder to climb up, then take the ladder next to it, on the eastern side.

Once down, walk upwards to the north and follow the path.

You will reach another ladder that you will need to use to get back to the surface.

Take the ladder next to it to descend once more on the surface. You will be taken to the Ice Queen lair.

Either use this safe spot show below or just use protect from melee and kill the Ice Queen. Once killed she drops the ice gloves. I recommend killing the Ice queen a couple of multiple times by switching worlds, just to get some extra pairs.
