Agility
Let’s be honest here; you are not going to be making millions through Agility; there’s a reason this is number 10. However, there are a few options here that will make you good money.
For starters, you have the Agility Pyramid, which at level 75, you can get around 250k an hour. This is excellent for Ironmen, but even regular accounts can benefit from it.
You can also get money by training in rooftops, and assuming that you have bought the whole graceful set, you can exchange those for Amylase Crystals, which you can then sell.
The most significant advantage of Agility is that on top of perfecting the skill, you’ll be making some coins out of it. Agility also makes most other skills faster, since you can run for longer periods without running out of run energy.
Fishing
This is one of the oldest resource gathering skills, and there are several ways to get decent money. You’d want to stay away from lobsters and swordfish, for example, and aim for more profitable options such as minnows that you can start catching at level 82 fishing.
You can exchange them directly for sharks and get around 250k per hour doing that. Your next option would be catching the Sacred Eels, which you can do at level 87 fishing. You can also try to catch dark crabs at level 85, which is a little more profitable. You will need a high fishing level for any of these methods, but the good side is that they are all pretty AFK.
Mining
This is one of the originals ways of making money in OSRS, and it’s still very profitable. Starting at level 22, you can mine volcanic ash for around 300k an hour.
Another excellent method is mining gem rocks, which you will be able to do at level 40, getting from 500 to 600k an hour.
Another good option is Runite, although you will need level 85 mining.
Magic
Magic is a reasonably expensive skill to train, but it has just an equally wide range of moneymaking methods. The majority of them can be found in the Lunar Spell Book.
To begin with, we have casting superglass make, available at level 77 magic. You will be looking at around 700k an hour.
Charging air orbs is another profitable method that requires level 66 magic or lower, but you will only be making around 300k an hour.
Among the other options is enchanting bolts, high alchemy ethereum bracelet, using magic for combat, etc.
Farming
Among the options to make money with farming, we have growing seaweed, growing Celastrus seeds, killing Hespori, etc.
Farming is one of the easiest ways to make money in the early stages of the game. You can start doing farm runs at very low levels and get comfortable and passive money. You probably won’t see good money straight away, but it is worth it in the long run.
Thieving
You won’t find many options to make money with thieving, but the very few that exist are genuinely decent.
Starting at level 38 thieving, you will be able to give it a go with thieving Masters Farmers but to get the best GP, you’ll need level 90, getting around 1 million GP per hour.
With the lower requirements, you might get 400 to 500k an hour, which is still very good.
Another fairly AFK option is pickpocketing paladins, which best case scenario will be around 600k an hour. Thieving the Wilderness Rogues’ Chests will need level 54 wilderness on top of level 84 thieving. This option is a higher risk, but it can get you 500k per hour.
Smithing
This activity used to be the least profitable, but nowadays you can smith pretty much anything and get good GP from it more cheaply and quickly.
To give you an idea, at level 50, you can make Mithril bars, which make around 600k an hour.
At level 60, you can make Addy bars for 700k and hour, and at level 85, you can start smiting rune bars for 900k an hour. The best way of all the smiting options is that they all make consistent money.
The blast furnace is what makes smithing so good.
Hunter
Catching Chinchompas is one of the most efficient and popular ways to make money through hunting, but if you don’t have a very high hunter level yet, you can catch implings and get a very good amount of money there as well.
You can get probably 300k and hour at lower levels, but with 80+, you can get as much as 600k an hour.
Runecrafting
This is one of the most profitable skills that doesn’t include combat or anything like that. Historically the best method to follow is crafting double nature runes, which require level 91 rune crafting.
This is a very high requirement, but it’s still one of the best methods.
At level 95 crafting, you can make wrath runes, making around 1.6 million an hour, which is the highest GP rate of any of the rune crafting options.
At level 99 rune crafting, you will find double death runes. However, the GP that you will get is not that higher from nature runes –which have a lower requirement.
Combat (PvM)
Whether you consider combat skills or not, it can’t be denied that combat moneymakers are the best in the game. Some of them are more than double their next method.
Runecrafting maxes out around 1.6 million an hour whereas, with Vorkath or raids, you can get maybe 3 to 4 million an hour with max efficiency.
Using your combat skills is proven to be an excellent way of making money. Most mid-level bosses and mid-level PvM creatures offer better GP rates than most of the other methods previously mentioned in this list. Realistically, when looking for the best skill to level up for money, there’s no doubt that combat is number one.
