Today we will show the most relaxing and comfortable ways of getting to 99 hunter. We will learn how to do it in lazy ways since this skill cannot be done 100% AFK.
The quests
There are a total of 5 quests that provide hunter exp, and these 5 quests will give you a total of 40k exp.
- Natural history quest (mini-quest) – 1000 XP
- The ascent os Arceuus – 1500 XP
- Eagles’ peak – 2500 XP
- Monkey madness II – 15000 XP
- Song of the elves – 20000 XP
Traps
As you progress on your leveling of hunter skill, you will start to set up more traps at a particular time, and if you are hunting in the wilderness, you will be able to lay one more additional trap. Below is the list of how many traps you can lay for a certain level
- level 1 – 1 concurrent trap, two wilderness trap
- level 20 – 2 concurrent traps, three wilderness trap
- level 40 – 3 concurrent traps, four wilderness trap
- level 60 – 4 concurrent traps, five wilderness trap
- level 80 – 5 concurrent traps, six wilderness trap
For a faster catch rate, always bring one extra trap every time you go hunting.
Birdhouse method
Level 1 to 9
At this level, you only need to do the natural history quiz mini-quest and get 1000 XP to reach level 9. You need to visit the Varrock museum and speak to Orlando Smith to start the quiz.
Level 9 to 99 – Birdhouses
Start by doing birdhouses. For this, you need to do several quests.
The first quest will be the Druidic ritual quest which is a requirement for the dig site quest. By completing this quest, you will be awarded 4 quest points, 250 herblore XP, and access to herblore skill.
Next will be the dig site quest which will award you 2 quest points, 15300 mining XP, 2000 herblore XP, and 2 gold bars.
Next up is the bone voyage quest, which will award you 1 quest point and access to Fossil Island, where the birdhouse is located.
Birdhouse
Gear setup:
Full graceful, 4 birdhouses, digsite pendant, and some seeds. Use the cheapest seeds you can get hold of, I’m using Barley seeds. Each birdhouse requires 10 seeds.
Use the birdhouse which provides you the most EXP per run, the best tier you have access to. You can buy the birdhouses from the grand exchange or make them yourself.
How to create a Digsite Pendant in OSRS?
Before you can create a Digsite pendant you’ll first need to find a clean necklace at the Varrock museum specimen table, after completing the Digsite quest.
After that, you can create a Digsite pendant by casting the level 3 enchantment spell on a Ruby necklace. To cast the spell you’ll need 1 Cosmic rune and 5 fire runes.
How to make a birdhouse in OSRS?
To start making birdhouses, you need a log, clockwork, a chisel, and a hammer in your inventory. You also need a specific crafting level depending on the birdhouse you wish to create. Click on the log and then click on the clockwork, congrats you have now created a birdhouse!
Unlocking the Magic Mushtrees
Before you start with the run you should unlock the magic mushtrees for easier transportation around Fossil Island.
- Teleport to Fossil Island using your digsite pendant. Just north of you in the house on the hill, there will be the first magic mushtree.
- The next one is located in the north-western part of the island in Mushroom meadow.
- The third one is located in the southwestern part of the island at the Sticky Swamp.
- The fourth and last one is located in the south-eastern part of the island in Verdant Valley.
Birdhouse Locations and Birdhouse Run
There are four locations for birdhouses on Fossil Island, and they can be checked every 50 minutes.
Start doing your birdhouse run by teleporting to the Verdant Valley using the Magic mushroom we unlocked earlier. Two of the birdhouses will be at this spot.
Use your birdhouse on the spot and fill the seeds at the birdhouse.
Run slightly north-east until you find the second spot:
Now, use the Magic Mushroom to teleport to Mushroom Meadow. Run north and you’ll see another birdhouse spot.
Finally, run south to the final birdhouse.
Even at level 5, you can get around 53K XP per hour, and it will keep growing as you level up. They are real quick to do and real AFK, similar to how you do farm runs. In about 50 minutes you can come back and harvest and place out new birdhouses. You’ll get back your clockwork when you harvest the birdhouses and some other rewards.
The normal method
Level 9 to 15
At this level, you need to catch Feldip weasels. The noose wand item is needed, and you need to catch 31 of them. You will get 48 experiences per successful catch for 1442 experiences. The time needed is 30 minutes.
Level 15 to 29
At this level, you need to catch ruby harvest. The item needed is the butterfly net and butterfly jar (28 of them), and you need to catch 401 of them.
You will get 24 experiences per successful catch for 9620 experiences. You will have 15k experience per hour and the time needed is 30 to 45 minutes. From here onwards, you will have the ability to catch all types of lizards and salamanders up to level 99. This is a good experience but does not give a good profit
Level 29 to 47
At this level, you need to catch swamp lizards.
The item needed is small fishing nets and ropes, and you need to catch 416 of them. You will get 152 experience per successful catch for 63096 experience. You will have 20 to 40k experience per hour and the time needed is 2 to 3 hours.
Level 47 to 59
At this level, you need to catch orange salamanders. The item needed is small fishing nets, ropes, desert robes, and waterskins, and you need to catch 772 of them. You will have 50 – 65k experience per hour, and the time needed is 2.5 to 3 hours. You will get 224 experience per successful catch for 172759 experience.
Level 59 to 80
At this level, you need to catch red salamanders, located south of the Ourania altar teleport.
The item needed is small fishing nets and ropes, and you need to catch 6391 of them. You will get 75 – 90k experience per hour, and the time needed is 19.5 to 23 hours. You will get 272 experience per successful catch for 1738182 experience.
Level 80 to 99 – Great EXP/Hour
At this level, you can catch black salamanders in the wilderness.
The item needed is small fishing nets and ropes, and you need to catch 34613 of them. You will have 105 – 125k experience per hour, and the time needed is 88 to 105 hours. You will get 319.2 experience per successful catch for 11048363 experience.
Red Chinchompa method – Profit
Level 63 to 99
To get to level 63, follow the normal method first, then start catching red chinchompa. For this, you need to finish the Eagles’ peak quest. You can hunt them at hunter cave, Feldip hills, and Prifddinas. The item needed is a box trap and needs to catch 47796 of them.
You will get 265 experience per catch for a total of 12665832 XP. You will get 165k XP per hour, and time spent is 76 to 80 hours, with a profit of between 74 to 76 million GP
Black chinchompa method – Profit
Level 80 to 99
To get to level 73, follow the normal method first, then start catching black chinchompa. For this, you need to finish the Eagles’ peak quest. You can hunt them in the wilderness south of the canoe spot. The item needed is a box trap and needs to catch 38228 of them.
You will get 315 experience per catch for a total of 12041536 XP. You will get 200k XP per hour, and time spent is 60 to 64 hours, with a profit of between112 to 116 million GP.
Maniacal monkeys method – Great AFK EXP
For this method, you need 60 hunters to finish the monkey madness II quest and 15 bones banana tablet. You can also bring bananas, knives, nature runes, and Kruk monkey greegree. You can have a ring of dueling and mud battle staff for the gear. Use the ring to teleport and then glide using the glider and click the monkey.
There will be a monkey bar where you need to use the Kruk monkey greegree to get over it. When you reach the room, there will be the bone you can turn into a banana.
Get up on the demonic gorillas and get to the boulder and once there, set upon the trap and wait for the monkey tail to be caught. It takes about 20 to 25 seconds. You can get extra crafting XP by using your knife on the damaged tails (15 XP per tail).
You will about 60k XP per hour here, and it goes up as the level increases and up to 120k per hour XP when you are nearing 99. This is not profitable and not as much a good XP like other methods, but this is the AFK method, so it is far better in that term.
