The following will show you how to level up your Agility from level 1 to 99. Agility is an essential skill because it speeds up most other skills since you can run for longer periods without running out of stamina.
Leveling Guide
Level 1-10 Gnome Stronghold
At level 1, you can run around the Gnome Stronghold, which is located int he Agility Training area outside the Grand Tree. Most agility courses are very straightforward, where you have to overcome five to ten obstacles.
Usually, you receive a ton of experience points from the last checkpoint, but only if you did the previous ones and you didn’t skip them. Some courses do not allow you to skip them. Either way, you can obtain from 6k to 8k of experience per hour in this location.
Level 10-20 Draynor Village Rooftops
When you reach level 10, you can now move to the Draynor Village Rooftop Agility Course. Remember that the Agility courses are the only way to obtain Marks of Grace, which can be turned in to obtain your Graceful Outfit or amylase crystals. These crystals are used to make stamina potions, which can also be sold for some profit. In this course, you can make around 7k to 9k experience per hour.
Level 20-40 Al Kharid Rooftops
Upon reaching level 20, you can leave the Draynor course and travel to the Al Kharid Rooftop Course for more experience. You acquire 8k to 9k experience points per hour, but you will remain here until level 30 because you are still at a low level, and this course can become quite challenging.
Level 30-40 Varrock Rooftop
Once you have reached level 40, you can now complete the Varrock Course, which yields between 10k to 13k of experience points per hour. As you may have noticed, the experience rate only increases little by little with each course, but that is because Agility is a slow ride to level 99.
Level 40-60 Canifis Rooftops
With a level 40-level, you can go to the Canifis course and earn about 15k to 18k experience points per hour. However, you must complete the “Priest in Peril” quest before you can unlock it. You obtain the best amount of Marks of Grace in this location. Normally, you are able to get the Graceful outfit when you reach level 60 from all the marks of Grace you have recollected from this course and the previous ones.
Level 52-60 Wilderness Course
You can also go to the wilderness Course for high-yielding experience points (30k to 45k per hour) after reaching level 52.
Level 60-90 Seer’s Village Rooftops
You gain around 40-55k exp/hour here. If you have done the Kandarin Hard Diary, you can toggle the teleport to the Seer’s Village bank to save time from running from the end of the course to the bank. Highly recommended as you will spend a lot of time here.
Level 90-99 Ardounge Course
This course provides you with 55-60k exp/hour. There is only a single spot where the marks of Grace here can spawn, so you could let them stack over time and then pick them up. If you have completed the Elite Ardounge diaries, you also get 25% additional marks of Grace here.
Agility Equipment and Gear
Stamina Potions
Agility training is basically running around on different courses. Therefore, you will need to have run energy to do it. This usually matters on a couple of special courses, and when you are low levels, so it is not really necessary to use stamina potions.
Energy potions or super energy potions can be used instead, especially for ironmen. Nevertheless, every time you run out of running energy, you are also losing precious experience points that you could be earning. It is always best to bring some of theses potions to avoid losing experience points. The effect of the stamina options is that they reduce the run energy depletion for two minutes, which, believe me, can make all the difference in the world.
Weight-Reducing Clothing – Graceful Outfit/Boots of Lightness/Spottier Cape/Penance Gloves
Wearing weight-reducing clothing will also slow down on how much run energy you use. The best attire to reduce the amount of run energy utilized is the Graceful Outfit. However, you receive this outfit as a reward for doing Agility, so it is practically impossible to obtain it early in the game. Other alternatives available in OSRS are the Boots of Lightness, the Spottier Cape, and the Penance Gloves.
Ideally, what you have to do is not bring heavy items or resources that will increase your weight when running. Even not running anything at all will make a difference in your running and reduce how much energy is consumed. Additionally, this will also help you with your experience rates if you weigh less.
Temporary Boosts
Agility potions and summer pies can temporarily boost your agility level by five and three levels, respectively. This can be really helpful at better agility courses when you are still at lower levels. Each potion lasts about one minute, so you want to take into consideration a timing strategy to use them correctly.
For example, an agility course may require an 80 Agility level, but you are at level 77. You should use a Summer Pie to amp your level to 82 and increase your running level a bit more and then you can apply agility potions to maintain your level within the 80 range, while still having a couple of seconds apart to avoid losing experience points.
Quests That Give Agility Experience
There are a few quests in OSRS that you can complete to jumpstart your Agility experience. These quests include the Tourist Trap, the Grand Tree, Cold War, and Icthlarin’s Little Helper. With these quests, you can obtain enough experience to level up earlier, but it also helps you complete your account’s overall progress since you have to do them eventually if you want to complete the game.
The first quest, “The Tourist Trap,” is a quest that can be used to level up many life skills, not just Agility. However, it is recommended to use this quest to improve your Agility level from level 1 to level 26 from the get-go. With “The Grand Tree” quest, your agility level will increase further to level 30, which is the level required to unlock the “Cold War” quest. The last quest has no major prerequisites, except for doing other quests in its quest chain.
If you decide to do all the previous quests, you will be able to increase your level up to 36 through quests alone, which will make reaching level 99 much faster and easier. Additionally, there are other quests that you can do to increase even more your level, and you are free to do them.
Here are all the quests that provide Agility experience and the amount they give:
