OSRS Best AFK Thieving Methods – 99 Thieving Guide

Thieving is one of the more relaxing skills because you can spam-click an NPC to do most of the stuff. Today we will have 2 ways to do thieving semi-afk.

Guide

Quest

There are a total of 24 quests that can give you rewards. The total XP of all these quests will be 123k.

Gear

Gloves of silence

Gloves of silence are used to reduce your failure rate when pickpocketing.

It will increase your pickpocketing success rate by 5%. You will need a level 54 hunter to wear them. Their price at grand exchange would be around 3200 GP.or you can make them in a fancy clothes store using 2 dark kebbit fur for a cost of 600 GP. After 62 failures of pickpocketing, the glove will degrade, and you need level 64 to repair them.

Ardougne cloak

There are 3 types of tiers of ardougne cloak, 1, 2, and 3. This cloak will increase your pickpocket success by 10% but do not stack with gloves of silence. You will get this when you complete the ardougne medium diary, but this can only be used in ardougne. Once you complete ardounge hard diary, then you can have this effect everywhere.

Dodgy necklace

This is an enchanted necklace created using a silver bar and cut opal. It needs 16 crafts to make and 7 magic to enchant. It can also be bought in the grand exchange for 900 GP. This necklace gives a 25% chance of preventing you from being stunned and damaged. Each necklace has 10 charges.

Rogue’s equipment

This equipment can be obtained from the rogue den minigame underneath the pub in Burthorpe. It can be accessed at level 50 thieving and have 1/8 of getting this outfit. These full sets will guarantee double loot from your pickpocket.

Health Regeneration

Get some health-generating gear such as a regen bracelet and an HP skill cape if you have one.

Level 1 to 24 (questing)

You will be doing 3 quests first, the biohazard quest, which gives you 3 quest points and 1250 thieving XP, the Hazeel cult quest, which gives you 1 quest point, 2000 coins, and 1500 thieving XP. and the fights arena quest, which will give you 2 quest point, 1000 coins, 12175 attack XP and 2175 thieving XP.

Next would be the tower of life quest, which will require level 10 construction. This quest will award 2 quest points, 1000 construction XP, 500 crafting XP, 500 Thieving XP, and access to creature creation.

Next up is the tribal totem quest, which needs thieving level 21. The quest will award you 1 quest point, 1775 thieving XP, and swordfish.

There are other quests that you can do: queen of thieves, the giant dwarf, death to the dorgeshuun, golem, creature of Frankenstein, and the feud. Complete all these 6 quests and get an additional 22500 thieving XP. which will get you up to level 37 thieving.

Level 24 to 25

You will be stealing 41 cakes at the ardougne market at this level. Each will give you 16 experiences for a total of 642 XP. You will get 19200 XP per hour and can be finished in 5 minutes but with no profit.

Level 25 to 55

You will be stealing 5572 fruits at the Hosidious house at this level.

Each will give you 28.5 experiences for a total of 158794 XP. You will get 40k XP per hour and can be finished in 4 hours but with no profit.

Level 55 to 99 – Ardounge knights

First, setup your options like this. You’ll use the F2 key to open and close your inventory when thieving here, to be able to open your coin pouches without moving your mouse

  • Set your NPC attack options to hidden
  • You can trap the ardounge knight yourself or join the thievinghost clan chat
  • Access clan chat (Thievinghost and splashworlds)
  • Press F2 to open your inventory, and then click on the coin pouch, before clicking F2 again and proceeding to continue thieving. This way you don’t have to move your mouse or rotate the camera at all(as shown in the picture above) and can just spam click at the same place to 99 thieving.

Level 55 to 70

At this level, you will be stealing 6774 coin pouches at Ardougne. Each will give you 84.3 experiences for a total of 570991 XP. You will get 60k XP per hour and can be finished in 9.5 hours with a profit of 338700 GP and 677400 if with rogues.

Level 70 to 80

At this level, you will be stealing 14810 coin pouches at Ardougne. Each will give you 84.3 experiences for a total of 1248441 XP. You will get 105k XP per hour and can be finished in 12 hours with a profit of 740500 GP and 1481000 if with rogues.

level 80 to 95

At this level, you will be stealing 80493 coin pouches at Ardougne. Each will give you 84.3 experiences for a total of 6785690 XP. You will get 150k XP per hour and can be finished in 45 hours with a profit of 4024650 GP and 8049300 if with rogues.

Level 95 to 99

At this level, you will be stealing 50568 coin pouches at Ardougne. Each will give you 84.3 experiences for a total of 4262873 XP. You will get 250k XP per hour and can be finished in 17 hours with a profit of 2528400 GP and 5056800 if with rogues.

Route 2

Equipment

  • Dodgy necklace – have 10 charges each with a 25% chance to prevent stun and damage.
  • Rogue’s outfit – requires 50 agility and thieving and doubles all loot from pickpocketing.
  • Ardougne diary – Medium diary gives a 10% success rate in Ardougne only; the hard diary gives a 10% success rate everywhere.
  • Gloves of silence – requires 54 hunters, increases success rate by 5%, and breaks after 62 pickpockets.

Quest

Do the following quest and gain 22500 thieving experience. 

  • Biohazard
  • Hazeel cult
  • Fight arena
  • Tower of life
  • Tribal totem
  • Queen of thieves
  • The giant dwarf
  • Death to the Dorgeshuun
  • The golem
  • Creature of Fenkenstrain
  • The feud

Levels

  • Levels 1 to 5 – pickpocket men and women; from 1-5, you need 49 pickpockets.
  • Level 5 to 25 – Pickpocket cakes at the baker stall; steal 466 times.
  • Level 25 to 45/55 – Steal fruits at the fruit stall, steal 5672 times ( if from 37 to 55, need to steal 4791 times)
  • Level 55 to 99 – Steal from the ardougne knights. You can go to the bank just west of the market or the building northeast of the market. If you don’t want to do 99 at ardounge knights, you can stop at level 65 and do garden knights, followed by elves and vampires until level 99 if you are looking for more profit instead.
  • Level 65 to 75 – You can do garden knight until 75 or go all the way to 80, giving 140k XP per hour.
  • Level 85 – You can do the elves, but the XP is not so good, but it does give some good GP
  • Level 82 – You also can do vampire thieving, but it gives less GP than elves.
