Killing ogres is one of the easier Slayer tasks. While there are 11 locations where you can find them, not all of them are worth your time. If done correctly, you will also get a decent amount of XP if you were to compare it to other early-level Slayer tasks.

Inventory

– Super Potion Set (Super Attack, Super Strength, Super Defense). They can boost your stars and make the entire task considerably easier.

– Summer Pies. These are cost-effective consumables that cost little to make and offer super high healing.

– Ring of dueling and Necklace of passage. Both items are needed to travel to the locations where you will be slaying ogres.

– Crossbow. You should have a Rune crossbow if you run with a melee setup. It will prove useful, especially in the ogre pens where you can kill ogres just with the crossbow and without a cannon.

– Cannon. You can use a cannon to speed up your farming rate. The cannon will be most useful in the farming location close to Castle Wars.

Locations

Castle Wars

You will not find ogres in Castle Wars but you will need to step out and walk northeast towards Yanille. You can find two locations with a high population of ogres in the area.

The location is right in the middle between the two. Make sure you place the cannon in one location and not in between them or the cannon will not reach the ogres. You can swap worlds once you kill all of them and continue slaying ogres.

West Ardougne

The next spot is north of West Ardougne. You will find an outpost. Using your necklace, you just teleport there. From there, you need to walk east towards the ogre pen.

Keep in mind that you need to have the Biohazard quest completed. In the pen, you can use a cannon. The only downside of this method is that you have to walk a bit to get to the pen whereas the spot close to Castle Wars is easier to get to. Keep in mind that spawns are higher here than in the previous recommended location. You will find that it is easier to kill ogres with ranged in the pens.

Tips

1. There are no requirements for this task. As long as you have decent items and level 40 combat.
2. Ogres are weak against any type of damage. Their attacks are melee and they have a max hit of 7. They are easy to slay with melee or ranged.
3. The most lucrative drop from ogres is the Ranarr seed which has a 1/181 drop. You can also get a bunch of other seeds according to their drop table.
4. On average, you can get around 300 GP per kill. If you loot everything, you can get 450 GP per kill.
5. The ogre pens can be faster to complete the task. However, you do have to travel more to get there. The location close to Castle Wars is a bit faster but you have fewer ogres to kill and you may need to swap worlds.
