Introduction

Since fishing is a pretty AFK, it won’t make you rich that quick, but there are some options that you have to make a good profit from it over time. Regarding other skills, fishing is way better than woodcutting, and it’s easier to train than most skills.

There are some items that you can use to gain some bonuses:

  • Anglers Outfit.
  • Dragon Harpoon.
  • Crystal Harpoon.
  • Pearl Fishing Rod.

This guide will cover five methods that you can use to profit from fishing.

Infernal Eels

Infernal eels are located southeast of Mor Ul Rek, and they require level 80 Fishing. You will also need a Fire Cape to unlock the area.

These eels can be caught with a fishing rod and regular bait, but you need ice gloves and a hammer while fishing them. This method can be a little slow initially, and it won’t give you a lot of XP rate (25K-35k an hour) isn’t going to get you to higher levels that much faster.

Anglerfish

Anglerfish require level 82 Fishing and 100%, Piscarilius Favor, to catch. You will need a fishing rod and sandworms to use as bait. This type of fish is located on the northeastern beach of the Piscarilius House on Zeah. They are very low to catch, but they do give a lot of XP.

Anglerfish are very expensive per fish, and you can get as many as 140 per hour, which will leave you with around 50K profit per hour. Of all the fishing methods, this is the one that will demand the least of your time. The Bank is also close, so even if you need to take a trip there, it won’t be time-consuming.

Sacred Eels

This type of eels requires level 87 Fishing to catch, and you can use a regular fishing rod and regular bait. You can find them in the swamp area near Zulrah, which also means that you need to complete the Regicide quest to access the city.

If you have never tried to catch these eels before, you need to speak to the High Priestess first to be granted permission. You can use a knife on sacred eels to get yourself some Zulrah scales, which is the way to profit here. Keep in mind that you will need 72 Cooking to dissect the eels to get the scales. As expected, a higher cooking level will give you more scales per eel.

You can anything from 15 to 20K XP, depending on both your cooking and fishing level.

Minnows

Just as with anglerfish, you will also need a minimum of level 82 Fishing here. You will need a small fishing net to catch minnows, which can be found on the lake to eat the Fishing Guild. To get to the docks there, though, you will need the Angler’s outfit.

Catching minnows is slightly faster than catching other fish, and additionally, you can catch many minnows at once. You can trade the fish to Kylie Minnow, who is on the dock to get one shark per every minnow.

This is the least AFK method in this guide, but it provides the most profit. At level 82 Fishing, you can make 350K an hour, whereas, at level 90+, you will be looking at around 600K an hour, plus 50K XP per hour.

Dark Crabs

Level 85 Fishing is required to catch dark crabs. These are located in the Wilderness Resource Area; it is a little riskier but also one of the best spots to catch dark crabs. To do so, you will need a lobster pot and fishing bait.

Remember to bring some cash with you because payment is required to access the area unless you have completed the Elite Wilderness Diary.

The easiest way to travel to the Wilderness Resource Area is from the Edgeville Lever, which means you will have to bring a slash weapon to cut through the spider web. Bring stamina and super restore potion just in case.

The amount of money that you will make per hour on the zone depends greatly on your ability to get away from getting pick-pocketed.
